The symfony camp organized by Dutch Open Projects and sponsored by Sensio will take place on september 6th, 7th and 8th, on the outskirts of the Dutch city of Amersfoort.
People interested in or working with the Symfony framework can attend for a moderate fee. Conferences are in English. There is one day dedicated to business matters, and two days of technical talks and workshops. The detailed program is available in the symfony camp website. Famous symfony contributors such as Fabien Potencier (Sensio), Dustin Whittle (Yahoo!), Dave Dash (Sprindrop.us), and Stefan Koopmanschap (Dutch Open Projects) will give conferences, and if my wife doesn't give birth before then, I might even get there for a day or two.
Dutch Open Projects offers a campsite, located in the garden of their office. I've been there a couple months ago, the place is awesome; it's all grass, trees, barbecues and swimming pools. Also, let me add that the people at Dutch Open Projects are VERY welcoming. That's really a great opportunity to chat and meet up around the symfony project, not to mention the quality of the talks given. And the Sunday is free, so you will have time to visit Amsterdaam, which is less than one hour from Amersfoort.
We hope to see many people there!

Best of luck to you, your wife, your upcoming baby... and Symfony 1.1+! Unfortunately I live far away from western Europe (in Azerbaijan), I'd come with great pleasure otherwise!

I happen to live in Holland and since I'm a student have free access to public transport. I'm only interested in more advance topics so I'm not sure if it's worth the money (unfortunately I don't have a boss to pay for me ;).
Any more information on the program? The two "expert tracks" seem interesting but I'm not sure about the rest. Any comments? -

As a student, you also have a 50% discount on the registration fee ;)
I certainly hope all the other sessions will be very interesting. Of course, the saturday will also allow you to do some symfony geeking :)
Especially as a student, see it like this: the symfony book costs something like 40 euro? The fee (early bird, until wednesday) for students is 50 euro, which includes the book. Good bargain for two days of food, drinks, campsite, meeting cool people and attending nice sessions, I'd think ;)
Obviously, I'm a bit biased, but implemented the student discount for a reason: you can't start early enough with learning professional development ;)

Looks like I'm speaking at one of the expert tracks, I'll also make my unexpert-track interesting if possible. I really will speak to the audience so if they really don't want me to spoon feed them what they can read in the symfony book, I'll open the door as far as I can with Ajax and symfony and keep it interesting.

Why do you do this when I am on vacation in Romania? flying back and forth is probably a bit too much, being a student and all :)
