The admin generator features that are built in symfony can help you to create a backend application faster than you ever did - and even without a single line of PHP.

This new screencast (.mov QT7, 20min, 5Mb) shows how Fabien builds an administration from scratch, with total control over the information displayed, the interactions proposed, and access to powerful features like file upload and form validation.

You can play with the generator by downloading the sandbox of the screencast. If you want to learn more about the admin generator, head to this chapter from the symfony book and start experimenting yourself. All you need is an empty sandbox and a data model, and faith in magic.

The symfony philosophy is: Focus on business rules, not on the things that the computer can do for you. Now the site administration is one less worry for your web development!

UPDATE: If, in addition to watching the screencast, you want to laugh at a French guy trying to pronouce technical words in English, you can try do download the commented screencast (17 Mb, still QT7). But please don't make fun of me.

Incredibly useful. i wish i had known about the file input ability in the admin generator last week when i wrote a gallery module... I learnt alot about the admin yml files along the way though so im not too fussed.

Keep it coming, i love to see you code like this! i am copying your shortcuts into homesite and find them incredibly useful for speed coding. fe, p, f, c, echo & sexecute ;)
