On October 18, 2005, Fabien Potencier commited the first changeset of symfony's source code. Therefore, our favorite PHP framework has just turned 3 years old.

Although symfony is a mature and reliable project, it still grows at a frenetic pace, as shown by these milestones:

• More than 12,200 changesets have been commited to repository (x2 in last twelve months)
• During last year, 14 symfony versions have been published: 10 of 1.0.x branch and 4 of 1.1.x branch
• More than 300,000 unique users visit symfony project's home page each month (x3 in last twelve months)
• Nearly 500 websites around the world publicly declare being built with symfony.
• More than 150 million people use symfony applications (135 of them through Yahoo! Answers and 20 million through Yahoo! Bookmarks)
• Sensio Labs, the company behind Symfony, has opened offices in United States, Canada and France.
• Symfony community has published more than 300 plugins (+50% in last twelve months)
• Symfony's source code is valuated at 32 million dollars (x3 in last twelve months).
• There are symfony developers in more than 80 countries across the world.
• Nearly 4.500 users have signed up at the official web site in order to publish plugins, code, documentation, bug reports, bug fixes and much more.
• symfonians.net website has more than 1,000 registered users, more than 250 companies and 90 active job offers related with symfony.
• Every month, Sensio Labs organizes several symfony workshops in cities such as Paris, Montpellier, Atlanta and Montreal.
• Every year, symfony community gets together at SymfonyCamp for conferences, workshops and networking with other symfony developers.
• Symfony's official forum has more than 62,000 messages (+50% in last twelve months)
• According to Google Trends, symfony is the second PHP framework more searched through Google
• There have been published 5 official books: The definitive guide to symfony 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, symfony forms in action and The Cookbook.
• Tens of blogs write regularly about symfony and have published tens of thousands of posts.

Most of the previous milestones couldn't be possible without the continuous support of the community, so we would like to thank you all for improving symfony everyday.
