# sfArrayCachePlugin plugin

## Overview

Easily cache an array data structure for quick, efficient retrieval, through the symfony cache system.
This plugin creates optimized php code, similar to the configuration cache system,
caching the desired array directly to an executeable php file,
which can be read in with a php include statement.

## Installation

To install sfArrayCachePlugin:

    
    symfony plugin-install http://plugins.symfony-project.com/sfArrayCachePlugin
    

Clear your cache

    
    symfony cc
    

You're done!

## Usage

    
    [php]
    <?php
    
    $cache = new sfArrayCache(sfConfig::get('sf_cache_dir'));
    $cache->setLifeTime(sfConfig::get('app_my_custom_timeout') * 60); // convert to seconds
    
    $array = $cache->get('unique_array_id', 'my_cache_dir');
    
    // test for empty or timed out cache
    if ($array === null)
    {
    	// rebuild the cache
    	$array = myTools::getComplicatedArrayStructure();
    	
    	// set the cache
    	$cache->set('unique_array_id', 'my_cache_dir', $array);
    }
    
    // do stuff with $array
    // ...
